Fort Richardson State Park - Pictures of The Naked Creek

Sadly, the severe drought in North Texas has sucked all the moisture from the once-dappling creek at Fort Richardson State Park. Even so, the dry hole allows opportunity for exploration.

The dry creek bed allows the hiker to cross over and meet trails, one that flows beneath one set of camping grounds.

This area used to resemble a blue gem in the rough when water was plentiful. Due to the lack of rain, animals tend to find areas that provide what they need to survive. Water is equally as important as food.

During our visit on this dreary October autumn day, the area was totally void of fowl.
