Fort Richardson State Park - Pictures of Rock Formations

Large boulders and interesting rock formations line the creek bed at Fort Richardson State Park. For the best glimpse, hike the trails roping around the creek bed area.

Fort Richardson State Park - Lifted Rock Formation

The rock formation above lifts off the ground a foot or more in places and makes an ideal den for rattlesnakes indigenous to the area.

Fort Richardson State Park - The Rocky Cliffs

Walls of rock also form many shallow cave-like areas that spoke off the hiking trails. When exploring, be sure to carry a reliable light and wear sturdy boots.

Fort Richardson State Park - The Tall Rock High-Rises

Many rock formations trail out from the upper-story campgrounds where one can look down and see the hiking trails below.
