As we pulled into one of the campgrounds we were greeted by a small herd of deer passing through the area. Although they appeared curious, their exit was too swift for the camera.

The oaks were bursting with golden acorns and many had fallen to the raw earth below.

The greenbrier was a profusion of brilliant red, standing out amid the colors of Autumn.

This beautiful plant can create great woes for those who are allergic. Poison ivy tends to be of the most spectacular displays during the changing of the seasons. And for those who are allergic, beware while hiking as it can be found in abundance along the trails. Be sure to wipe off with a mix of alcohol and water after hiking to cut risk of break-outs.
