Just a short list of hidden dangers that campers and hikers alike need to be mindful of while interacting with nature:
West Nile Virus
Sudden drop offs both on land and in water.
Falls & Accidents - such as burning smores igniting the forest.
Rocky Mountain Fever
Lyme Disease
Sudden rise in the water level due to flash flooding.
Lightening storms.
Wind gusts.
Rat droppings as well as rat urine in camp & tent area can create serious illness.
Guns - stay well out of hunting areas and wear bright colors if possible.
Rabid animals - another good reason to keep Skippy and Fluffy at home. Even if their vaccinations are up to date, a situation such as this is guaranteed to cause grief.
Snakes, wild boars, spiders - the list goes on.....
