ROARING WATERFALLS IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Waterwheels and waterfalls are naturally relaxing UNLESS you hike five miles back to discover you've encountered a 'seasonal' waterfall.

Yes, it's happened to many hikers in hopes of spying natural waterfall beauty.  Seasonal waterfalls are similar to seasonal creeks; 'if it ain’t been raining, there ain't gonna be no waterfall'.

To avoid disappointment, check in with the local governing agent of the area you are visiting for detailed information. It's also a good idea to chat with the locals when you drop in to get gas or buy that 0-Calorie Coke.

When hiking in a considerable distance, always have the Buddy System in place, and always let someone know the area you're hiking, and a general idea of your return time. And don't forget the water and firstaid kit. You just never know when you'll meet up with a rabid snake.
