DRINKS IN THE WILD
Tasty drinks can be concocted from many trees,
bushes and plants found in the wild. Here is a short list
of our favorites:
Sassafras tea - the roots and bark of the Sassafras tree can be
used to brew up some spicy, tasty tea. Roots generally produce a
deep red-colored tea.
Dandelion
tap roots make a delicious coffee substitute. After roots
are scrubbed clean, they require about three and one-half to four hours of slow
roasting time. The centers of the root will be very dark. They can
then be ground and brewed.
Beers
can be rendered from chamomile, burdock, dandelions, maples, spruce,
and wild hops - just to name a few.
And take precaution to always
know what you eat before you eat.
