WINTER CAMPING IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Camping during the winter months is strictly for avid campers who wisely prepare for the harsh elements of nature. However, climate is everything during this unpredictable stretch of Mother Nature. For example, campers residing in the warmer southern states may even find a need for air conditioning in their tent - even in the month of January!

Just a few sights to look for while camping during those cold days of winter include:

In deer country you may see a deer shed its antlers; in bear country, bear cubs are being born and  owls and ducks take up nesting. Jack Frost also likes to pop in most mornings for a quick visit. Snowflakes may fall, and ponds may freeze.

The days short while nights are long, symbolic of nature at rest, in waiting for the warmer months of spring that lie ahead in the not-to-distant-future.
